Description
Overview
How does Care Virasoothe Gel relieve the symptoms of chickenpox? Care Virasoothe Gel utilises a specialised proprietary technology known as Osmo Care to treat the irritation associated with chickenpox. Unlike traditional creams that may simply sit on the surface of the skin, Care Virasoothe Gel works by creating a microscopic osmotic gradient. When Care Virasoothe Gel is applied to the red spots and blisters, Care Virasoothe Gel actively draws water from the lower layers of the epidermis towards the surface of the skin. This physical movement of moisture creates a powerful local cooling effect. This evaporation-like cooling sensation immediately soothes the nerve endings in the skin which are responsible for transmitting the itch signal to the brain. By cooling the inflamed area, Care Virasoothe Gel provides rapid relief from the intense urge to scratch, which is the primary source of distress for children suffering from the Varicella zoster virus.
How does Care Virasoothe Gel help to reduce scarring? The most common complication of chickenpox is secondary bacterial infection and permanent scarring caused by scratching the itchy blisters. Care Virasoothe Gel addresses this by breaking the “itch-scratch” cycle. By effectively relieving the itching sensation through its cooling osmotic action, Care Virasoothe Gel reduces the likelihood of the child scratching the lesions. Furthermore, Care Virasoothe Gel forms a protective, breathable barrier over the blisters. This barrier helps to protect the damaged skin from external bacteria on fingernails or clothing. By keeping the environment around the blister clean and hydrated, Care Virasoothe Gel supports the skin’s natural healing process , allowing the blisters to crust over and heal naturally without becoming infected or leaving long-term pockmarks or scars.
Who Is It For
Who is Care Virasoothe Gel suitable for? Care Virasoothe Gel is suitable for children aged 6 months and over, as well as adults and the elderly. Care Virasoothe Gel is specifically designed for individuals suffering from chickenpox (varicella). Care Virasoothe Gel is an ideal choice for parents who want a modern, less messy alternative to traditional calamine lotion. Care Virasoothe Gel is suitable for use on large areas of the body and face, provided Care Virasoothe Gel is kept away from the eyes. Care Virasoothe Gel is not suitable for babies under 6 months of age.
Usage Instructions
How to apply Care Virasoothe Gel correctly? Care Virasoothe Gel is for external use on the skin only.
Hygiene: Hands should be washed thoroughly before and after applying Care Virasoothe Gel to prevent spreading the infection.
Application: Squeeze a small amount of Care Virasoothe Gel onto the fingertips. Gently massage Care Virasoothe Gel into the affected areas of the skin using a light, smoothing motion. Care Virasoothe Gel should be applied sparsely rather than in thick layers.
Frequency: Care Virasoothe Gel should be applied two to three times a day, or whenever relief is needed.
Duration: Care Virasoothe Gel can be used throughout the duration of the chickenpox infection until the scabs have fully crusted over and healed.
Does Care Virasoothe Gel rub in easily? Care Virasoothe Gel is formulated as a lightweight, non-greasy hydrogel. This means Care Virasoothe Gel absorbs rapidly into the skin without leaving a sticky residue. Unlike calamine lotion, which dries to a white, chalky powder that can rub off on clothes and bedding, Care Virasoothe Gel remains invisible on the skin once absorbed.
Warnings
When must Care Virasoothe Gel not be used? Care Virasoothe Gel must not be used by patients who are allergic to any of the ingredients in the formulation. Care Virasoothe Gel is strictly for external use and must not be ingested. Care Virasoothe Gel must not be applied to open wounds or skin that is infected with bacteria (indicated by yellow pus or spreading redness) without medical advice. Care Virasoothe Gel must not be used in or around the eyes. If Care Virasoothe Gel accidentally enters the eyes, they should be rinsed immediately with plenty of clean water.
When should medical advice be sought while using Care Virasoothe Gel? If the child develops a fever that does not respond to paracetamol, or if the blisters show signs of severe infection such as extreme redness, swelling, or heat, a doctor should be consulted. If the skin becomes sensitive or irritated after applying Care Virasoothe Gel, use should be discontinued.
Alternatives
Common alternatives to Care Virasoothe Gel? If Care Virasoothe Gel is not suitable or available, common alternatives include:
Calamine Lotion: The traditional treatment for chickenpox which contains zinc oxide to soothe and dry out the blisters, although it can be drying for the skin compared to Care Virasoothe Gel.
PoxClin CoolMousse: A foam-based product that also uses an osmotic barrier and cooling effect to relieve itch, similar to Care Virasoothe Gel but in a mousse format that is easy to spread over large areas.
ViraSoothe Chickenpox Relief Cooling Spray: The same active formulation as Care Virasoothe Gel but in a spray bottle, which allows for application without touching the skin, reducing the risk of cross-infection.
Eurax Cream: Contains crotamiton which effectively stops itching and lasts for up to 10 hours, suitable for children over 3 years old.
Piriton Syrup (Chlorphenamine): An oral antihistamine liquid that works systemically to reduce the allergic itch reaction and causes mild drowsiness, which can be helpful for helping children sleep through the itching at night.
