For certain medicines or treatments (including those prone to abuse), we must verify identity under regulatory guidelines. Identity verification is required either by law or as part of our clinical and fraud-prevention responsibilities; and in accordance with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) guidance.

We use Yoti/Onfido or similar third-party providers to perform:

  • ID document scanning
  • Facial comparison
  • Liveness checks
  • Fraud prevention checks

We receive confirmation of verification, we do not store your raw ID images unless legally required.

Yoti/Onfido may process your data outside the UK using approved transfer safeguards.

7. Who We Share Your Data With

We only share personal data where necessary and lawful.

  • Our prescribers and pharmacists
  • Delivery providers (Royal Mail, DPD, DHL etc.)

  • Share your data with third parties for their own marketing

All third parties we use operate under Data Processing Agreements (DPAs).

Users have the right to request the erasure of personal data from Elite Meds. Under GDPR, this is known as ‘the right to be forgotten’. Any user who has provided personal data to Elite Meds can have it removed without undue delay (considered to be about a month). This right only applies to data held at the time of the request. It does not apply to data that may be created in the future.

You have the right to request any personal data we have collected on you. Elite Meds has an organised and secure system that stores personal data, therefore any personal data requested by a user will be provided in a safe, structured and machine-readable format that can easily be transmitted. This data can also be sent to other companies/organisations that have been designated by yourself. If we provide this information directly to yourself or to another organisation, we are not responsible for any subsequent processing conducted by yourself or the other organisation.

11. Your Health Records

You have the right to ask for a copy of all pharmacy records and health information we hold about you (in paper or electronic form). We’re required to respond to any request within one month and usually there will be no charge for this information.

You will need to give adequate information in order for pharmacy staff to identify you (for example, full name, address and date of birth). You will also be required to provide government issued ID, for example a passport/driving license, before any information is released to you.

If you would like a copy of the health information held on you, please email us at [email protected] or write to our Data Protection Officer. If you believe that any health information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or email us as soon as possible. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.

You may object to us holding your information; you have the right to request the restriction or suppression of your personal data including your health records. This is not an absolute right and only applies in certain circumstances. When processing is restricted, we are permitted to store any personal data, but not to use it.

12. Marketing

When you agree to receiving marketing from us using a sign-up page or checking the “Email” or “SMS” box, we will save your contact details (email address and/or phone number) together with your communication preferences and only send you marketing via your chosen channel – email and/or SMS.

We will periodically send you promotional emails/SMS about new products, special offers or other events, which we think you may find interesting. Should you wish to stop receiving those updates, you can easily unsubscribe from them following the unsubscribe/opt-out links provided in every communication we send you. We do not send marketing relating to prescription-only medicines.
