Overview

How do Sudafed Mucus Relief Day & Night Capsules help clear mucus? Sudafed Mucus Relief Day & Night Capsules are formulated to help drain mucus and relieve the pressure of head colds. The capsules contain phenylephrine hydrochloride, which is a decongestant. Phenylephrine hydrochloride works by constricting the swollen blood vessels in the nasal passages and sinuses. By reducing this swelling, Sudafed Mucus Relief Day & Night Capsules allow the trapped mucus to drain away naturally, which relieves the feeling of congestion and pressure. Both the day and night capsules also contain paracetamol, which is an analgesic (painkiller) and antipyretic (fever reducer) used to treat the headaches, sore throats, and high temperatures that often accompany a mucus build-up.

What is the difference between the Sudafed Mucus Day and Night capsules? The pack contains two different capsules to suit the user’s needs throughout the day. The Day capsules, which are coloured red and yellow, contain caffeine in addition to the other active ingredients. Caffeine acts as a mild stimulant to help the user stay alert and combat the heavy, sluggish feeling of a cold. The Night capsules, which are dark blue and light blue, do not contain caffeine. By excluding the stimulant, the Night capsules allow Sudafed Mucus Relief Day & Night Capsules to relieve the congestion and pain that disrupts sleep, without causing wakefulness.

What specific symptoms does Sudafed Mucus Relief Day & Night Capsules treat? Sudafed Mucus Relief Day & Night Capsules are indicated for the symptomatic relief of the common cold and influenza. Specifically, Sudafed Mucus Relief Day & Night Capsules target the discomfort of blocked sinuses (sinusitis) and the “stuffy” sensation caused by excess mucus. Sudafed Mucus Relief Day & Night Capsules also provide relief from the associated aches, pains, chills, and fever.
